2010 Annual Gala

Thursday, October 28, 2010
6:30pm - 9:00pm
At Mutual of America
320 Park Avenue, New York City

FPWA’s 2010 Annual Gala honors two special New Yorkers who have devoted their careers to helping New Yorkers in need:

  • Edward O’Brien - Edward O’Brien will be retiring this fall after serving as Vice President and CRA Officer at Ridgewood Savings Bank for the past 12 years. Ed spent many years working on behalf of low-income New Yorkers prior to his appointment at Ridgewood Savings Bank, where he has put his experience and knowledge to use by supporting and strengthening non-profits throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
  • Reverend Domingo Vázquez – Rev. Vázquez, turned his vision of helping the people of East Harlem into a reality when he founded Friendly Hands Ministry in 1992. Rev. Vázquez’s dedication and perseverance have turned Friendly Hands Ministry into a robust network of more than 30 churches in East Harlem and the Bronx which operate soup kitchens, food pantries, affordable housing, and healthcare management, and provide services to thousands of community residents each year.
