K.I.D.S. 1 Billion Dollar Donation On Tuesday, April 16, 2013, Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), held their Board meeting at FPWA. This was a very special event as it marked the “1 billion dollar” donation mark for this international charity. As part of their celebration, K.I.D.S. provided a large donation of assorted children’s clothing, toys, books and other items to FPWA that will be distributed to member agencies. Executive Director, Jennifer Jones Austin, accepted the merchandise on behalf of FPWA.In 2012, K.I.D.S. donated $ 297,636.00 worth of toys, books, clothing and household goods to FPWA. Witnessing History: Senior Stories, Student Scribes
Witnessing History: Senior Stories, Student Scribes is an intergenerational and educational project linking students with seniors to document the senior’s life stories and give the students a connection to the history they have witnessed. Now in the programs second year, Witnessing History students have spent many hours interviewing the residents about their lives and experiences.- Students from Marble Hill High School for International Studies in the Bronx were partnered with residents of FPWA member agency, Greater Harlem Nursing Home.
