Strengthening Human Service Agencies
HR-PRO
Human Resource Professionals Providing Resources to Organizations In 2009 FPWA launched HR-PRO, which provides free human resources assistance to FPWA member agencies. HR-PRO is a joint pilot project of FPWA and HR/NY, the New York Chapter of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM is a world-wide HR association of human resource professionals. The purpose of HR-PRO is to provide strategic and technical support to social service agencies with limited resources for dealing with the myriad of human resources issues they face. The program provides workshops and individual consulting covering the wide-range of HR topics. Who can participate? HR-PRO is a free service for FPWA member agencies. How does it work? FPWA agencies request assistance and enroll in the program by contacting Rev. Joel Gibson, ph. (212) 801-1331 who will assist the agency in completing an HR-PRO Agency Profile doc (50690 bytes) and HR assessment. What are typical consulting projects? HR-PRO consultants can help participating agencies develop a more effective performance review process, organize employee files or make sure that a termination is conducted appropriately. Any area of HR can be addressed, including staffing, compensation and benefits, performance management, record-keeping, leadership and teambuilding, health and safety. Your feedback is encouraged. As a new program, HR-PRO, requires feedback from agency participants as well as HR consultants. We ask that all involved complete our evaluation forms so that we can improve the program. If you have any questions please contact Rev. Joel Gibson, Director of Member & Faith Based Services, ph.(212) 801-1331.
