About Access Health NYC
Access Health NYC is an initiative that funds community-based organizations (CBOs) to provide education, outreach, and assistance to all New Yorkers about how to access health care and coverage. The initiative is asking for an increase in City Council funding from $1 million to $2.5 million for its 2019-2020 work, which would go towards funding both current member organizations and helping more groups serve vulnerable New Yorkers. The initiative is led Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, Commission on the Public’s Health System, Community Service Society of New York, FPWA, and the New York Immigration Coalition. Member awardees include Young Women’s Christian Association of Queens, Plaza Del Sol Family Health Center, Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center, NYU Lutheran Medical Center, Community Health Center of Richmond, BOOM! Health, Community Healthcare Network, United Chinese Association of Brooklyn, HANAC, Make the Road New York, Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation, Voces Latinas Corporation, and Care for the Homeless.
