Supporting Communities

FPWA operates a number of programs that provide its member agencies with the support needed to help improve the lives of their clients and communities.

Financial Support for Nonprofits

Camp Scholarships

FPWA offers member agencies that operate day or sleep-away camps the opportunity to apply for camp scholarships. Once granted, each agency is responsible for deciding how to allocate those funds to the applicants of their camp.

College Scholarships

FPWA provides member agencies with opportunities for their youth to apply for college scholarships. Each agency can refer up to two students entering their junior year and up to two students entering their senior year, for a total of four referrals per agency.

Financial Assistance

  • Agency Administered Grants:
FPWA provides grants directly to member agencies so that you may assist clients with things such as rent or utility arrears and one-time essential items and/or fees. All participating agencies are required to attend a case assessment workshop and to secure and retain required documentation for grants made under this program. Each year, an RFP is issued in January, and grants are awarded in April.
  • Financial Assistance:
FPWA also accepts referrals of individual cases from member agencies to assist clients with the same needs mentioned above.

Senior Stipends

FPWA’s Senior Stipend program provides ongoing financial assistance to New York City residents ages 66 and up who meet certain criteria and who are receiving case management. This program enables participants to remain in their homes and to have support and access to services from licensed social workers.

We are currently accepting applications. Please contact Program Manager Blanche Centeno-Hatwood, LMSW.
