Sequoia Owen, The Brilliant Lead
Sequoia is a workplace culture strategist who helps leaders practice wellness for themselves and build environments for their teams to thrive. With over a decade of experience working in the nonprofit sector, Sequoia has honed her expertise in mental wellness, leadership development, and organizational change.
Holding a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, she merges her passion for psychological safety with her dedication to racial equity, advocating for inclusive leadership practices. Sequoia’s journey began in trauma-informed work, where she developed a deep understanding of the impact of workplace culture on individual well-being. Recognized as a 2024 LinkedIn Top Voice on Workplace Culture, her insights on restorative leadership have been featured in Nonprofit Quarterly and published in the book “Building a Pro-Black World: Moving Beyond DE&I Work and Creating Spaces for Black People to Thrive”.
As an experienced coach and facilitator, Sequoia has guided over 180 mission-driven leaders across 10 states, empowering them to leverage their influence for positive change. She specializes in organizational wellness, offering tailored strategies to minimize burnout and enhance staff morale.
