FPWA Responds to NYC Preliminary FY 19 Budget

Thursday, Feb. 2, 2018

FPWA commend Mayor de Blasio for putting forth a budget that seeks to protect New Yorkers from the chaos created in Washington D.C. Working with the Governor to reduce the impact of the Trump tax plan is critical to protecting programs and investments that aim to make New York City a more equitable place for low- and middle-income residents. The $700 million in estimated risks cited in the Mayor’s presentation does not include potential cuts to the nearly $8 billion in federal grants the City, our nonprofit partners, and communities rely upon. We look forward to working with the Mayor, his administration, and others to ensure that investments are made and preserved to stabilize our safety-net and strengthen the nonprofit sector.
